‘Tis the Season… for Cards!

Handmade Holiday Greeting CardsI began making cards years ago before my photographic interests took over–I created cards of collages from origami and wrapping and other specialty papers, and sold them at stores such as The Elliot Bay Book Company (the Pioneer Square days).

Most of my friends are accustomed to receiving a photo card from me during the holidays, since… I like to make cards, and I especially like photography. This year I decided to change it up a little and dug into my collection of paper goods and old cards that I knew would come in handy one day. Years ago I  had come upon an old desk calendar with vintage holiday images that I had been treasuring, and I had been holding onto received holiday cards thinking I could reuse some of the pieces from them.

In the spirit of letting go… I recombined some fun images and papers and made them into my own seasonal greeting. No Hallmark greeting here! Season’s Greetings and Happy Holidays!

PS Some of the images I use to create photo cards can be viewed in the Galleries here.

These cards are wonderful!!! Everything about them is perfect: that you recycled old cards and paper goods, that you *hand made* beautiful original cards, and that each one is so special. Love them!

Thank you Maggie! In addition to the joy I experience when I create them, I think special people deserve special cards…:)
